It is already useless. It is already useless. I am already hopeless.
Life Light Love Body Love
It is already useless. It is already useless. I am already hopeless.
It is already useless. It is already useless. I am already hopeless.
It is the minimum. It is the highest. It finishes now.
It is already useless. it is the highest
It is the highest. me -- already --
It is already useless.
I adore this artists work! It's only the second time I have really fallen for Computer art. Though apparently she draws the images by hand and then colours them with the computer. Amazing use of colour and textures! It's super cute but also so damn weird and psychedelic she totally gets away with it. A bit like the Togawa Jun of the art world.
Found this interview very interesting too.
"It is not easy to bring the images out and make them into paintings. Like a mother trying to deliver a baby, I have to help those formless images struggling to gain form. It is a pleasure, and at the same time, it is a pain. They try to come out every day, giving me no choice but to become a painter."

Isn't this a wonderful painting? Reminds me of Li Po :)
Nicholas Kalmakoff was a truly amazing artist and well worth searching out. No one does mystic like the Russians do. They own mystic :D
EDIT: Just realized today, this could well be an illustration of Behemoth, the demonic cat from The Master & Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. Just a wild guess though, it's exactly what I imagined him to be like.

You were stronger, more beautiful and more gifted than I am, and I miss you.
Where have you gone to with that cup of my heart in your hand?
Eight years since you left and only now am I starting to find my way again.
I promise you this....I will live the way you raised me to live.
With freedom and joy.
I love you.

Finished my SUN card today...I think. My paintings seem to go on forever and ever. But I think it's really good now.
The white and the yellow have been very much in my palette. And the blue...the sky here is so amazingly blue. This picture doesn't really show you just how blue it is.
Can't post the SUN here though which is a shame. I'd like to be able to show off my real work but I couldn't stand having it ripped off. Not sure really what to do about that. The only important thing for me right now is my painting. But if I'm going to continue doing it full time, I'm going to have to figure out some way of supporting myself. And as much as I hate pimping my art, I also want people to see it.
I guess that's the great attraction of fan art. That and the quick paintings I do between my cards for amusement are the only things I feel comfortable about posting publicly. Problem is the fan art leaks into my real art, so the boundaries do start to get blurred. Inspiration is inspiration, wherever it comes from.
People shouldn't be so down on fandom anyway. It's just a form of enthusiasm, and enthusiasm is the basic fuel of all creativity. Those idiots who think art (or life) should be all serious and pretentious are totally missing the point.
Lately I have been very slack with my major project, which is painting gouache/watercolour Tarot cards. Instead I have been doing demented little acrylics like this one, just for fun really and to loosen up my style again after all that precise illustrative stuff. But I am starting to miss the cards. It's time for me to get back to work. Creative work is the only thing that makes life exciting...that is what you realise eventually.
